odedia Posted September 5, 2005 Share Posted September 5, 2005 Although I can see the printer in the printer list of system preferences (listed as HP 5550 for some reason), I need to select its driver, and there it does not exist in the drivers list. I installed the HP 5550 software for mac from their website. instalation goes smoothly, but when the HP detector application launches, I get a "no devices found" error. Clicking "Rescan USB" is not helping either. At some point, can't remember how, i think through the Apple printer setup, i managed to get the printer to load a paper (but not print on it), so it MUST be able to function in some way...
