gfy
Hi All I have a problem overclocking my hackintosh. Try as i might i cannot get the E8300 (2.83) to go past 3.24ghz. I can raise the multiplier to 8.5, but i have to drop the fsb, I still only get to 3.24ghz conversly, i can drop the multiplier to 7.5 and raise the fsb to over 400+ but i still only get to 3.24ghz. every time i go past this 3.24 I can get post, but the os crashes at the grey screen with the apple. I have plenty of scope for extra voltages, and heat. (i have tried many different voltage and timing settings on both cpu and memory) Is there something in the OS that is limiting the chip from going further? Am i missing a kext or something? Please help, i would really appreciate it cheers GFY I am running Asus p5qvm E8300 @ 1.08v 10.5.8 retail vanilla 2GB 6400 team dark xtreme @2.1v 8 x multiplier 399 fsb Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/193611-hit-the-speed-limit/ Share on other sites
