streetfighterplayer5377
Hi everyone. I really hope someone can help me, I've been trying to install (am intending to dual-boot the OS with Vista, have partitioned disks properly) OSX86 10.5.6 on my Compaq Presario V6000 laptop for a few days now but am still hitting the same wall every time I try to install. I start up from the installation disc, the white screen with the apple logo and the loading indicator loads and after a few minutes a blue screen appears and the whole system goes silent. There isn't a mouse or anything. I have really tried to research everything properly but the problem I have got is I am not sure if the hardware I am using is compatible with this version of OSX86. If it is, then I do not know what else needs to be changed or tweaked, there seems to be so many tests and things that can be changed but if I tried every one of them it would take me such a long time to determine the problem. I have been reading the forums and I understand that a lot of people have been having trouble with their graphics cards and CPUs but my motherboard and graphics card do not seem to be of the typical 'troublesome' make and not listed in any incompatible hardware lists. My specs are as follows: CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2080 - 1.73GHz Memory: 2GB RAM Graphics: Mobile Intel ® 945GM Express Chipset Family Motherboard: Chipset: Intel i945GM, Southbridge: Intel 82801GHM (ICH7-M/U) Motherboard also appears as 'Vesa 3.0' when initially starting up from the install disc. Would this have something to do with 'kext' changes? Or patches to the OSX86 install DVD? I am starting to feel as if I am in over my head, I would really like to get this working but have lost my way and do not quite know where to start troubleshooting. I wish I had a more generic system, maybe using a desktop PC would be an easier option? I have tried connecting a separate monitor whilst trying to install, also installing using different graphics resolutions but still have had no success. I did not find the diagnostic mode very helpful either, as it lists so many problems that I do not know which one to follow: - waiting for boot volume with UUID 86EED391-097F-3633-BA4A-185A5D9AF487 - waiting on <dict ID= "0"><key>IOPr...(a lot of tags and various info follows...) - cannot immediately determine dependencies for extension.org and org.tgwbd.driver.ACPIPS2Nub - cannot add repository (KEXTd[47]) - CORERAIDSERVER [43]:18179 not responding - display: family specific matching fails - GFX0: family specific matching fails - unable to mount /dev/disk0S1 - unable to mount /dev/disk0S3 - Sandbox_init error: cannot apply named profile 'in DSNResponder' Any sort of input would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance. streetfighterplayer5377
Try booting the install disk with -s -v -f flags. Thanks for the suggestion Das_Human but I have tried many different boot options, -f, -s, -v, -x, "graphics mode"="1024x768x32", cpus=1 (was hoping this would work as I am using a dual-core CPU but alas...), but none of them seem to make any difference. Am thinking the "-s" mode is my best shot here but am not familiar with how to use it, will keep reading and see what I can find...
