flackend
Hi, I have a friend who lives across the country who's Dell Inspiron e1505 is getting the blue screen of death. She wants to recover some files from the hard drive and I suggested a hard drive enclosure. I have the Dell service tag. Besides having her remove the drive and measure it, what's the best way to get the dimensions of the hard drive so she can buy an enclosure? Is it safe to just get a 2.5" enclosure and assume it will fit? Is there a better way for her to recover her files? From Dell's website for the system configuration of her specific product: PC939 Hard Drive,80G,9.5,5.4K,SerialAta,Hitachi Global Storage Technologies,Moraga Plus Thanks! Frogburn959
All modern day laptops are a standard 2.5 inch size for PATA and SATA formats, but since you are replacing it you might as well open it and look, it could be a smaller 1.8 or 1.5 form factor but most unlike since its a dell laptop and not a netbook. use Google, google is your friend Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192954-laptop-hard-drive-dimensions/#findComment-1303805 Share on other sites
