Hi everyone,

I'm a bit of a self-admitted newbie when it comes to osx86 however i'd like to give it a shot but I'm having some troubles installing it. (tried installing via Iatkos7, iDeneb 10.5.5 and kalyway and all are freezing at or around the same point)

First, My system specs:

-Intel Quad Core Q8200 2.33GHZ processor running on a Gateway DX4720-01h with Nvidia 630i/7100 chipset (motherboard is a gateway customized MSI ms-7399 flashed with bios A7399NG2.202 AMI based bios)

-4 GB Ram (2.8GB free after the onboard video takes the memory it needs)

-1 SATA Optiarc DVD Burner AD-7203S DVD+R DL

-2 SATA HArd drives, one is a 1TB hitachi and the other is a 750GB Seagate running on a SPAN RAID setup to combine both hard drives into one

Onboard Firewire, LAN, Nvidia 7100 video, smartmedia card reader

Currently installed operating systems:

Windows XP professional x64 - installed without any problems

Ubuntu Linux 9.04 64 bit - Installed using noapic flag during installation worked without a hitch

Now - problems with installation with OSX86:

when I stick in the boot DVD for both Iatkos and iDeneb, the darwin bootloader appears and says press any keep to edit startup options. I do such and at the boot line (where it says boot: ) I type in noapic. when i type that, the bootloader just reappears again and i do it over again only for this cycle to keep going.

If i let it boot normally, it shows the apple logo with a circle below it, then i wait about a minute and a half then a logo appears at top center of the apple logo which appears like a no-smoking logo.

When i go back into the startup options for darwin and type in boot: -v at the boot line, it goes right up until it states still waiting for root device.

is there any way I can get macos on this system? if so, please send me any assistance you can.

Please help!

Try changing your BIOS settings for SATA controllers to AHCI mode.
