reptilehead
Hi I have just attempted to install Snow Leopard Unlimited and when I try to boot from the hard drive after installation the white screen with Apple Logo is displayed with no rotating start up symbol and the OS will not get past this stage. I tried installing Ideneb last week and the same thing happened. I'm running the install on a Dell Precision M90 Laptop. Any Ideas guys? narzola
If you are using Chameleon, you can add a bootflag "-v" to your com.apple.Boot.plist file. This will prevent OS X from showing you the white screen with the Apple Logo and instead show you the boot messages. From these messages you may get a better idea of why your install is failing. Hope this helps. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192003-snow-leopard-crashes-at-white-screen-with-apple-logo/#findComment-1298976 Share on other sites
Tony Hock
-v at startup is key in seeing where things hang up for sure, even at boot, when selecting the drive you are able to simply type -v before it boots up. You can also try -x (put a space between -x and -v!), this will put it in safe mode, see it it gets in that way. All I can recommend is that you are making sure you have all of the right kext's and/or EFI's for the system you have. On a distro like iDeneb, you are able to more easily select the ones that are right for you, but you gotta look into which those are. Takes a lot of trial and error when you are starting out for sure.
