System Specs

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+

MSI K8NGM2-FID (Nforce 430, ALC880)

NVIDIA 8500 GT

Samsung Sata Drive. 1TB

Tried iDeneb v1.5.1 and iATKOS v7, both are 10.5.7.

Mostly been using the Chameleon 1.0.12 and v2 RC2 bootloader, ATANForceATA, NVdarwin 512MB

9.7.0 Qoopz, 9.6.0 AnV, 9.5.0 Voodoo all were tried. I loaded the seatbeltfix with with voodoo, not qoopz.

I am unable to boot from dvd from sata dvd drive, but booting from usb dvd drive works.

I have wiped my entire drive, so osx is the first partition on MFT

First boot I do -v -f, and it dosn't crash until after it loads everything, finishes the terminal looking screen stuff and goes into osx right before the spinning forign language welcome whatnot. I usually get a light baby blue background with a quick message in osx gui stating a usb device was using too much power and was shut off, then immediatly it goes to the grey screen of death, with a black background every 10 seconds.

So I have tried installing more times then I want to think of.

Every time except for once, I get the installation totally finished. On first boot it fully finished the first loading screen with apple logo on white, then when that is done it goes to a Grey screen with a basic mouse cursor, that resets to black background then back to Grey every 10-15 seconds. Once it loaded, but I had to reformat as mft was broken, yet I can't get it to run like that again, even though the installation crashed on every .dmg and my wireless setting reset every boot.

I've not disabled the second core, as it seems the 3800x2 worked for most kernels 2 years ago. I'd like to keep both cores working, yet do you think that could be the issue?

Anyone familiar with my setup, any advice? I have been searching google and the forums for days and nothing seems to give any advice specifically.

I'm gonna try without the second core tonight, though I shouldn't need to since it actually booted though it was once with both cores, it seems that it should be possible.

Also gonna try iPC tonight as well.

And to be honest, my only real interest in getting this installed, is because it seems that installing 10.6 will need a previous osx installation to work with. If anyone knows how to install it directly on my system, please lemme know.

Last question is, can i place custom kexts on a dvd for install, and somehow load them during the install. How would I do this? more a question for 10.6, but it might help here too.

Thanks in advance!
