shanepinch
Hey everyone, So I managed to get Leo4All (AMD Version) to start the os installation. But! when I go to disk utility and all that and click on erase, it shows the loading bar but doesn't do anything. I waited for like 5 hours and nothing happened. It recognizes my hard drive but it won't format it. Any suggestions? thx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191935-unable-to-format-the-hard-drive/ Share on other sites
vilpostus
From the description given, I assume that you are trying to install on to an AMD system. So, most likely you have an nForce chipset. In order to formate the disk, you need an appropriate chipset driver present on the installation media. Unfortunately the media doesn't provide one. So change a media to another version or release. Next time you post DON'T FORGET TO POST THE SYSTEM SPECS. I heard that you can inject a driver to the disk or something.. is that possible? oh and system specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (SSE3 Support) MSI MS-7349 Motherboard Chipset - NVIDIA nForce 560 1GB DDR2 Geil Geforce 7050 PV/Nvidia nForce 630a WD 160GB sata2 HD (I have WinXP installed on it) +WD 80GB sata2 HD (I want to install Mac on it) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191935-unable-to-format-the-hard-drive/#findComment-1297880 Share on other sites

shanepinch
It is. But only if you have a working OS X system. So the solution is to try a different distro?
