I am having a problem getting OS x Leopard loaded on my

pc

I have

Gigabyte P35-DS3L mainboard

Pentium D 3.4GHz CPu

3.5GB DDR2 RAM

500GB Seagate SATA (Windows Vista, Windows 7 RC)

40GB Maxtor IDE

10GB Fijitsu IDE (With Leopard Install DVD copied onto with Macdrive 7)

Realtek Gigabit network card PCI (Onboard faulty and disabled in Bios)

I dowloaded Boot132 (Small about 3MB) and

the Boot132 (for P35-DS3L about 50MB)

I does the same with both copies of Boot132

I boot PC with Boot132 disc till it finish and ask for partition

I put Leopard Install DVD wait till DVD drive stops flashing

Then I select to boot from DVD

It scans for a while then brings up a white screen with apple logo.

It stays on this screen and nothing happens also no hard drive or DVD activity

seems to be taking place

I copied install DVD to a 10GB HDD with macdrive 7, when selecting to

boot with this drive it also goes to white screen with apple logo and nothing happens after

this.

I tried it with my windows hdd also unplugged but still freezes on this screen.

Should install disc be patched or not, if yes how to patch it...

What else might be causing it to sit on this screen or should I type something to start a setup program??

Thanks in advance..

Ok I tried with the -v before choosing to start with DVD and when trying from HDD

Both cases it scrolls very fast through everything and goes to a completely black screen and nothing happens then

I checked my CPU

Pentium D 945 3.4Ghz (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, EM64T)

I also tried putting -cpus=1 when starting dvd or hdd still nothing freezes by white screen with apple

with -v -cpus=1 it also freezes on black screen

O yeah I am using a copy of the retail untouched Leopard disc. It's not a downloaded version it from original disc that

I made copy from.. Copied on slowest speed.

another thing... My graphics card is XFX Geforce 9800GT 512MB DDR3 if this helps??

Should I run any crack or patch on my disc???

Thanks for all the help...

Is there a way how to change the kernel to something else by downloading and replacing some files, or does it mean downloading another version of OSX.. Reason for asking my connection not that great and it will take

too long to download a 4 -6 GB file..

Ok so I downloaded voodoo kernel (mach_kernel.voodoo.alpha3)

I have put it on the hdd where the install files are..

At the boot prompt I type the kernel file name. and it starts booting, then it goes to a CPU panic screen..

Guess I will have to look for some other kernels and try all till I get 1 that works with my CPU

What is all the different kernels available which I can try. or does anyone know of 1 that works with my CPU??

O yeah thanks for all the help so far.

E.g. voodoo, AnV, qoopz, modbin etc.

Will the kernel be loaded, depend on many things. e.g.:

If the kernel was installed with correct permissions

If it was installed to correct place

If the name of the kernel were typed correctly upon the boot prompt.

Inserting kernels to Boot132 requires working OS X. Same applies to HDD installation. It doesn't necessary should be an installed system - it can also be an OS X install disk (the patched one). So copy the downloaded kernel to FAT formatted USB flash. Boot to OS X install disk (with USB flash connected) and copy the kernel with Terminal. Set correct permissions and you are ready to go.

Ok I got little further this weekend, but still not up and running, after reading up a bit on google.

When using voodoo kernel i get white screen with apple, but this time it has spinning thngy at bottom and keeps restarting when it goes there

O yeah removed memory so that I only have 2GB in otherwise it just freezes at white screen with logo

When running with voodoo and -v

I get this message: failed to load extension com.apple.driver.Apple.ACPIPCI (In yellow text)

and it keeps saying waiting root device or something like that every few seconds.

(Without -v it goes to apple logo page spinning thingy at bottom and after a while gets a "no sign" )

Edit:

I found a patched/modified version of AppleACPI kext and replaced that with one on HDD with install dvd

Now it goes past the part where it complains about Apple.ACPIPCI,

It now gets stuck at IOATABlockStorageDevice is not compatable with its superclass.. something about superclass changed?

It says this twice in yellow then it says waiting root device
