itschadwhitaker
Hello. I'm getting ready to build a new OSX86 set up. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128358 ) from the lifehacker article. http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...start-to-finish But instead of using a Intel Quad Core Processor I was looking to use something less expensive. Like an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115037 ) I'm going to do a vanilla install of snow leopard and I just wanted to verify I would have no issues using this processor. From my understanding all Intel processors will work fine. But I just wanted to check before I purchased. Thank you. KWS
I have an c2d 8400 with a GA945-GCM-s2l board ... everything is okay, but ... after waking from normal (suspend to RAM) sleep, the processor stays in lower p-state (2 Ghz). I must force it manually (p-state-changer) to go up to 3 Ghz again. This didnt happen on my other 2 machines with 65nm-processors (2,4 and Quad 2,66 Ghz).
