cornboy7x
so the install was relatively painless, but still a few glitches. i am building this hackintosh for my teenage cousin whos sick of viruses on her pc. so it needs to be pretty easy to use or she just wont want it. so heres the challenges. no wifi without -f option at boot. using broadcom driver. screen goes blank at boot, "fixed" by setting hot corner. works....but if theres a better fix that would be great, especially if it lets me open and close and WAKE the computer when it does go to sleep, unlike now.... no audio. this is a real kicker, im sure she is going to want to take advantage of itunes and such. thanks!! cornboy7x
used osx86 tools to add that boot flag. works now. not sure exactly what the -f boot flag does, but its going to be used everytime i boot. is that bad? Marclh
The -f boot flag only forces all .kext files to be loaded on startup, it has no adverse effects on your OS normally. Onixs
cornboy7x I have HP Netbook (broadcom) with same issue as yours. Heres what i did, instead of booting -f everytime... Include IONetworkingfamily & IO80211Family to your /Extra/Extensions.mkext. (be sure the dev-id of your wifi is injected in the plist of AppleAirportBrcm42311.)
