I followed the method here: http://auzigog.com/2008/12/23/hackintosh-20/

For doing a retail boot-132 install of Leopard 10.5.0 (updated via Software update to 10.5.8) on my Gigabyte EP45-UD3P.

I get all the way to the end just fine, but the problem is that I *HAVE TO* boot using the boot-132 disc or else it won't boot properly.

When I boot using Chameleon RC 2.0 or EFI or whatever else I've tried, it hangs at some point. It seems to hang right after the IntelCPUPowerManagement kext, even if I delete it or install Disabler.kext, or it hangs after mention of the ethernet the second time around (the first mention gets the ethernet ID just fine).

Here is the video:

I guess, that you have a different set of kexts installed to /Extra folder and the kexts on the grub-dfe cd. So you may replace thous, to the one that comes with the disk

Navigate to /Extra/Extensions folder. Backup the contents. Remove all the kexts from /Extra/Extensions folder.

Now navigate to grub-dfe cd or iso file. Go to boot folder and open the containing initrd.img. Navigate to /Volumes/initrd/Library/Application Support/DarwinBoot/Extra/Extensions. Copy all the containing kexts to /Extra/Extensions

sudo -s
cp -R /Volumes/initrd/Library/Application Support/DarwinBoot/Extra/Extensions/*.kext /Volumes/YourHDDname/Extra/Extensions

Now remove the Extensions.mkext

rm -Rf /YourHDDname/Extra/Extensions.mkext

Note that the Extensions.mkext may be located in some other place, so change the path to it accordingly.

Now repair permissions to /Extra/Extensions

chmod -R 755 /Volumes/YourHDDname/Extra/Extensions
chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/YourHDDname/Extra/Extensions

Restart with -v flag.

Remember that you doing it on your own risk, and don't blame if it's goes wrong.

Sorry for the delayed response, I found InsanelyMac to be down for the previous 30 hours or so.

I tried your suggestion, and it was successful :D :D :D

Copying the kexts from the boot CD to the HDD was an instant fix, and it didn't break anything in the process. I have what now appears to be a fully functional Hackintosh with my new EP45-UD3P, including dual monitors. Check it out:

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Some hardware problems maybe...
