hello All,

here I am, a total rookie here.

I have an Ubuntu notebook (HP 6910p) and I would like to try OSX.

I have an external USB drive where I would like to install iAtkos v7, but I'm concerned that proceeding with the installation may mess with my grub.

The drive is available when I open Disk Utilities, but I don't know what will happen to my grub if I proceed.

Basically, I would like to book OSX if the drive is plugged in, else Ubuntu will launch as usual.

thanks for your time,

cheers,

-GianLuca

If a GRUB is installed to Ubuntu partition (not to MBR), which is the default option, instlling OS X will not bring any harm to GRUB (esp. if you install OS X to an external drive). But if it's installed to MBR, then you'll need to reinstall it after the OS X install.

How to configure GRUB to boot OS X http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...c=74510&hl=

Basically you will have an OS X entry in GRUB's boot menu. So you can choose to boot ether Ubuntu (the default OS) or OS X.
