Evil Frodo
First off, I am a first-time poster after using this forum to get OSX working on my T40 laptop. Thanks to the guides and information from all the experts here, I am happy to say that my laptop is working fine except for the Linksys WPC54G wireless card. My question is a simple one: which type of applications can I run on this laptop? I know that I can run the universal binaries, but can I also run the PPC apps? Thanks in advance for any replies! Sincerely, -Evil Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19051-basic-question-about-apps-on-intel-osx/ Share on other sites
Silhouette
In theory you should be able to run some PPC applications with Rosetta but I don't own a hackintosh so I can't tell you for sure. fOZf8
Simple PPC based stuff works...even some heavier applications. Some stuff just doesn't seem to at all though. The bigger problems are drivers, very few if any ppc drivers work on an x86 mac. In the end, if you can find a unibin of an app, most definately use it, but if not, it may still work fine, just somewhat slower (or in Photoshop's case, MUCH slower!)
