erykwithay
So I just did an install with iatkos 10.5.5 and my computer is now almost fully functional except two things. 1. None of my pci cards are recognized 2. My onboard ethernet is not recognized. Other than these two things the computer is booting perfectly and running great (this poor thing has been running on Vista for the past six months). I have read a lot of forums on these issues and am somewhat lost as to what I might be doing wrong. I reinstalled a few different times with different kernels and various other settings but nothing seems to work. I downloaded the envy 24 driver after install and got my audio working. From what I have read it looks like I could get the onboard ethernet and firewire pci device to work as well with the write efi strings or kext. Any advice? I have read on some forums that the Kalyway install worked for people with my motherboard. I am a total newb and am so close to getting this system running I can't hardly stand it. Thanks! vilpostus
1. None of my pci cards are recognizedTo clear the things out:if a PCI card is shown in the System Profiler, doesn't necessary mean it is not working if a PCI card IS shown in the System Profiler, it doesn't mean it does work some devices (e.g. a sound card in my case) still doesn't show up in the system profiler though work. For the device to work, a driver is needed. For the device to work and show up in the System Profiler a proper driver is needed.
