Okay so I bought a Sony Vaio NW11S last week, and it's pretty good (but OSx would make it perfect :D )

But on the hardware compatibility lists, I'm having a hard time finding my hardware. Here is pretty much everything to do with it. Which distro should I go for? (iDeneb, iAtkos or whatever it's called, Kalaway... etc.)

Second question, will I be able to keep my Sony Vaio Recovery Partition?

And third question, is it possible to keep my existing Windows Vista installation too? Haha, I don't want much :D

Thanks for any help.

Thanks ;)

Just I was reading a guide and it said you absolutely have to format your entire drive, but I'm guessing if I use gParted or something similar to set aside say 60gb for osx, leave it unformatted, that'd work?

Shall give it a try tomorrow.

Yes, it should work. Formate the new partition to FAT in Gparted. Then formate it in OS X disk utility to HFS+.

Managed to install from iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5, it installed fine but hangs at boot. Booted with -v and it hangs at:

LPCB: family specific matching fails

Oct 7 20:19:54 localhost configd[53]: InterfaceNamer: no network interfaces, could not update platform UUID

Any help?

Reinstalled with some different kexts, seems to be working alright, using ATI Radeon HD 3650 kext though, and trying to find a way to make it boot in 1366x768 as 1024x768 is the only resolution available. - Done with adding 1366x768x32@59 to boot
