NoNo Posted October 2, 2009 Share Posted October 2, 2009 Hi, I have been trying to install Snow Leopard following the lifehacker guide (Link) but I can't even manage to boot the installation. It always result in a kernel panic or something else. My configuration is : - Gigabyte EP45-UD3 - Intel Core2Duo E8400 - Ati Radeon HD4850 I have a working 10.5.8 installation. If someone who have the same configuration can help me, I will be grateful. ManFrday Posted October 2, 2009 Share Posted October 2, 2009 I don't have an answer for you, but I am having the same issue. Right now I am at a point where it is only hanging indefinately. I suspect it is our Radeon cards. All of the guides I have seen are for folks using nVidia cards. Thanks (Excuse my bad english, Im french ) I had the same prob, I used an old pci card (ati rage 128 AIW) to install, my Vapor X 4870 1GB was stopping the install as well. Glad to hear that you were eventually able to install SL. I couldnt even do that using ATI3870 I was lazy and replaced it with 9800GTX and my SL experience has been wonderful. However keep trying, as I do remember hearing people having success with 48xx series ATI cards. If I can find the posts again I'll let you know. I also would KP when booting with 3870 Until I changed to Nvidea I couldnt boot at all. No kernel panic anymore, i managed to have Graphic working using Evoenabler. Audio doesn't work, I have an Alc889a. I built a dsdt with the audio but i can't manage to get it work. Same, need a fix to.... go look and let me know ;p I have Logitech Z-10 USB speakers and a Korg Zero8 firewire soundcard so I don't really need onboard but it would be nice if I ever did.
