enzobelmont
Hi, i've managed to install iatkos 7 on my brand new vaio w series model: VPCW110XL. Here some tutorial: 1.- using a mac from other machine i've made a copy of the iatkos install dvd 2.- install using customized options: vodoo kernel 9.7.0 intel 950 usb do not touch intel hda sound options, it will work fine with default options. i could not manage to make work the network interfaces. there is a work in progress about attansic l1 ethernet driver there is a hope for the wireless interface, it works on snow leopard, i think. everything else is working (audio, display with QE/CI, keyboard and trackpad, usb, battery status) the real reason of this post is the need of a central post for updates about progress sorry my english. enzobelmont
hi, I know where you downloaded the file? 1.- you should buy retail disk from an apple store 2.- download the toshiba nb200 patches to make it work on snow leopard (google it or search in this forums) 3.- restore (using a real mac or a working hackintosh) the retail disk image to a usb mass storage 4.- install from there and apply patches. that's all for snow leopard. if you want i can explain it in spanish. or you can go to "la bahia pirata" to grab iatkos 7 using bittorrent. Hi enzobelmont I tried those methods for the NB205, the problem is that they ask you to delete IOATAFamily.kext in order to boot for the first time from the usb, but when I delete IOATAFamili.kext The installer doesn`t find my HDD, even if it is previously formatted as GUID, to be more specific here is what I did: 1. Restore DVD Install Leopard 10.6 to an USB HDD 2. Make it bootable with Netbookbootmaker 2.8.3.4 3. Boot from my new Installer usb HDD didin´t work I deleted IOATAfamily.kext Apparently work but the display didin´t show up then I Made my USB HDD bootable with My_kack_installer1.0 RC4.1 ( also on many NB205 forums) , delete IOATAfamily.kext, And It Worked!!!, I entered to the main installation menu, but guess what, it didn`t recognize my Vaio W HDD. So in order to install it, I disassembled my macbook pro 13´HDD, Installed the Vaio w HDD on it, And installed Snow Leopard 10.6, make it bootable with "my hack installer 1.0", delete IOATAfamily.kext, and boot in -V (verbose) and everything went ok, Just the new problem was that my display didn`t work , Dont know if there is an incompatibility Issue with 1366x768 monitor en de GM945 kext of snow leopard, I will appreciate any suggestions Here are some forums I used as reference http://www.hackint0sh.org/f217/89878-2.htm http://gizmodo.com/5389166/how-to-hackinto...leopard-netbook Thanks in advance for creating a forum about hackintoshing vaio W Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/189805-vaio-w-series/#findComment-1333385 Share on other sites
jaibri2
Well Now I can detect my HDD with the snow leopard installer, here is what I did: Restore SL DVD to USB mass storage Delete IOATAFamily.kext Use My_Hack_installer 1.0 to make it bootable (this is important because we need to customize usb adding PS2Controller to use trackpad and AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext - this one in order to recognize HDD. Boot from usb Format HDD as GUID Install OSX snow leopard without Languages & Printer support (don`t know why but on Hackintosh posts based on NB205 say that it´s important) Finish Install - restart Delete IOATAFamily.kext again (this is the installed one) from boot Boot from your usb then on Boot menu change to your new OSX installation Everything is OK until My screen Flashes like 3 times, and then it seems It boots because the HDD is working, the Wireless LED is ON, but there is nothing on my screen I will install GMA 950 kext on NOXIN Post and see what happens Any suggestion would be appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/189805-vaio-w-series/#findComment-1334274 Share on other sites

jaibri2
HI enzobelmont Thanks for your answer, well I just have to say that I used your First method on the forum, I Installed iATKOS v7 (10.5.7) from an external USB DVD device with your instructions Vodoo kernel 9.7.O GMA 950 USB Added Voodoo PS/2 driver with Trakcpad plugin (this is because on first time it didn`t recognize my keyboard and my trackpad) Start first boot with cpus=1 option Boot with no problems, I went trough the first boot leopard setup, restart and then boot normally (without cpus=1 option on boot) Graphics Working 1366 x 768 QE/CI enabled Sound works Bluetooth works Track pad allows two finger scrowlling Wifi doesn`t work ( I bought a Linksys WUSB54GC v3 ralink chipset RT2870) worked with these instructions http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=151237 All these happened because of your first guide with iATKOS v 7, so THANKS !! The only thing that doesn`t work is suspend mode, and Battery meter, I don`t really care suspend mode, But I was excited of your first post that battery meter works, could you tell me how to do it in 10.5.7 vaio w Thanks in Advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/189805-vaio-w-series/#findComment-1335351 Share on other sites
brainchill
I did my install with ideneb 1.6 lite 10.5.8 Patched > Audio > AppleAzaliaAudio Patched > Chipset > ICHX Fixed Patched > Kernel > Vanilla Patched > Wireless > Broadcom (This is necessary for future installation of a Dell mini 1510 WiFi chip) Fixes VoodooPS2 ACPI-Fix CPUS=1-Fix FireWire Remove Intel GMA950 After reboot I downloaded voodoo 1.0 from http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/downloads/list Then installed Voodoo Power and Voodoo Battery Currently have everything working but the original onboard wireless. Bucher
Hi Brainchill, thanks for posting Just asking, do you have 1366x768 QE/CI enabled???, I`ve read that many are stuck with 1024x768 on 10.5.8, If so, I`ll try your method Thanks again Running the VPCW121AX Sony Vaio W. I have 1366x769 QE/CI enabled in 10.5.8 - no problem. 1) Used iAtkos 710.5.7 to install: usb Intel 950 (had a lost of problems here till I realized that all 3 950s had to be checked) 9.7 Voodoo Kernel Bios Enabler (About this Mac would not work and restarted finder without it) PS2 keyboard with trackpad. Voodoo Battery boot with cpus=1 on first boot. -No LAN, wifi, and sound is a bit distorted/scratchy at times (mic and sound jacks also disabled). -Use a ZyXEL 300Mbps NWD-271N USB wifi (OSX driver installed from company website, works in 10.6 also) 2) Updated with the Ideneb Combo update to 10.5.8 w/ vanilla core. cpus=1 on first boot again Start IAtkos and unchecked all but Intel 950. (will say failed, but just ignore the error) Restarted. Installed all listed updated from Software update. 3) Have been told that removing/reinstalling the audio kexts will correct the scratchy sound. Will test this as well. I have also pushed this model thru osx 10.6.2 with the new atom kernal patch, but could not get the video above 1024x768 and could never get the sound working so reinstalled to 10.5.8. As another note, have installed this from IPC 10.5.6 as well, but the video is not corrected and iAtkos 7 must be used for the video drivers again. I really hope that someone can get the Atheros 8132 for the LAN or the Atheros 9285 for the wifi working at some point. neither would work under 10.6.2 either. Cheers!
