Garo
I have a Toshiba M115 s3094 laptop That has dual boot windows and updated (via ideneb) Kalyway 10.5.7 on it. Can I update it or iTunes/Quicktime or other programs safely? And for stuff like GarageBand and stuff I don't seem to have, can I safely go download a disc somewhere and install iLife or whatever it is? I can't seem to cut a lot of things. I love being able to click something, ctrl+X (I already set Ctrl to do what the command button normally does) but I rarely can actually CUT anything and am forced to copy then delete the original. Fix? With this fix, will the iwi3945 (abg) driver work with me? I don't want to risk anything. I tried with iAtkos 2.0 and it didn't work, networkselector failed. LASTLY I can access my windows desktop looking at the drive and copy files to mac, but I cannot delete, move files onto, or change the windows partition from mac, it always says it's locked. How do I unlock this? I love you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/189417-can-i-update-safely-why-can-i-copy-but-not-cut-will-iwi3945-work/ Share on other sites

vilpostus
Can I update it or iTunes/Quicktime or other programs safely?Yes, you can (though I couldn't take any responsibility for any troubles with that). It is not recommended to install the system updates (if you have NOT the vanilla install). I can access my windows desktop looking at the drive and copy files to mac, but I cannot delete, move files onto, or change the windows partition from mac, it always says it's locked. How do I unlock this?First of all boot to Windows and do run>cmd>chkdsk c: f/ where c: is the disk you trying to read/wright in OS X. It should check disk for errors. OS X may not mount the disk properly unless it is free from some kind of errors (Chkdsk fixes thous errors). Alternatively check the NTFS 3G settings in System Preferences.
