Flaviopiu
Hello fellas ! First of all , i want to tell you guys that i´m not a expertise on Hackintosh but i´m not a complete noob ! I already had installed one in my laptop Here is a tutorial that i made (joining some info from all internet) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=108329 But now i want some advices from you guys , expertises on installing MAC OSX First of all ... my new config that will be here on one week (a desktop) - Intel i7 2.66Mhz (I will overclock it..maybe 3.2Ghz) - Asus P6T Deluxe V2 - 6Gb DDR3 1333Mhz Corsair - PSU Seventeam 850w - XFX ATI HD 4890 1GB - Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower - Akasa Nero CPU Cooler - 2 Samsung SATA HDs 1Tb (I pretend to use RAID 0) - 1 Samsung SATA HD 320Gb I have some doubts here: - I pretend to have dual boot with VISTA (Windows 7 FULL in near future) and OSX Leopard (and why not Snow in the future or NOW ??). Can i use this config ? I´m asking that because all tutorial on my MOBO telling to set the SATA as AHCI (So i can´t figure out how to configure a RAID system if i do that on my MOBO). So please discuss this issue with me...if it´s possible or not to use RAID / Multiple Boot OS. If it´s not possible..i think it´s possible to use RAID on Windows and use a 3rd HD only for OSX - My computer is new. So what is your advice to installing the OS. First the Windows ou first the OSX ? No problem for booting the OSs on different HDs ? (Sorry in that case i´m a complete noob !) - Anyone have this HD 4890 installed on a Hackintosh ? Any commentary here for help me on installation ? Thnx people And i hope that someone reply here with comments or any other help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188746-advices-here-on-a-i7/ Share on other sites
vilpostus
...First the Windows ou first the OSX ? No problem for booting the OSs on different HDs ? (Sorry in that case i´m a complete noob !)Windows need to be installed on the first partition of the disk (that means you can create the first partition on the disk as NTFS or fat first and install Windows to it any time later). OS X doesn't have such limitations. It may be installed on any extended partition. It is actually able to install to any HDD ever internal or external, USB (some preparation though may be needed). The same applies to booting. OS X can be booted from any drive. Just need a proper boot loader. ...I´m asking that because all tutorial on my MOBO telling to set the SATA as AHCI (So i can´t figure out how to configure a RAID system if i do that on my MOBO). So please discuss this issue with me...if it´s possible or not to use RAID / Multiple Boot OS. If it´s not possible..i think it´s possible to use RAID on Windows and use a 3rd HD only for OSXI do have multiple OSes on the RAID, BUT it is a separate HARDWARE RAID PCI card and it only contains Windows and Linux. I have OS X installed on a separate HDD. Not sure if you can do the same with the on-board SATA controller. Though it may be possible if both OSes have the driver supporting RAID mode. Guess it may be a tricky thing to do... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188746-advices-here-on-a-i7/#findComment-1279699 Share on other sites
Flaviopiu
Thnx Das for your advices... So I´m thinking on doing this setup.... Reading the ASUS P6T DELUXE .pdf manual , i can see that this board allow multiple BIOS setup (I don´t imagine yeat how i choose on the computer startup...maybe i have to enter on BIOS to load this...but it´s ok for me) i will use RAID 0 (Two 1Tb HDs) to install Windows (7 or Vista) and another HD (out of RAID) to install OSX. And , if i´m not wrong , my setup will become simple , because i will load a BIOS SETUP for Windows (where the main partition is RAID and seeing the Mac OSX HD) and a BIOS SETUP for Mac OSX where i only see the OSX HD/PARTITION (because the RAID is disabled on the BIOS and Mac OSX will not see the Windows Partition , "thinking" is alone on the computer) Repeating.. I´m imagining this setup , because 1st i dont have yeat the board..it will come to me in a few days...and 2nd because all tutorial that i see , list that i have to change on BIOS - Storage Configuration - - Configure SATA as [AHCI] (Maybe because no one on P6T try to use RAID as primary SATA controller...i will find that ina few days..trying to install MAC OSX alone on RAID 0) So one more question.. If i do 2 BIOS setup like i describe above... probably i will not encounter any obstacle , or i will do ? (The only is Windows seeing MAC OS and not vice versa) Any others advices here for me ? ps: I will try to instal Ideneb 10.5.5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188746-advices-here-on-a-i7/#findComment-1285523 Share on other sites

Flaviopiu
I think i´m having a issue involved with iDeneb or with my iDeneb ISO. First of all i tried to install with Leo4ALL v3 (10.5.2) and at least it boot up and show me the firsts steps of installation (I not go further than formatting my HD to HFS Journaled.... Not problem until there... With this iDeneb ISO 1.5.1 (10.5.7) i can´t boot up the installation. The PC restart as soon the white screen with apple logo shows up. (Sometimes i can see in a fraction of a second... sometimes not) So i´m trying now to dowload a old version of ideneb 1.3 (10.5.5) Ps: I tried to burn the DVD more than 3 times with low speed. And with 2 different DVD-RWs burners.... Ps2: For those with problems to "/com.apple.boot.plist not found" , this topic help me the KJPU resolution : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...mp;#entry799204 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188746-advices-here-on-a-i7/#findComment-1290671 Share on other sites
