My question is: Can I install older OS's such as Windows 98, 2000, or ME?

The reason: I'm kinda a cheap basturd, and I have windows 98 OEM and wanted to use the upgrade version of XP/Vista on my Macbook I will be getting over the summer.

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure 2000 would work. All the drivers would probably be similiar too?

But 98/ME and dos type stuff... Never know. I doubt the drivers will work. I have booted my macbook from a DOS Boot CD-ROM which worked almost 100%. I couldnt get mscdex.exe working (CD-rom drivers) and I had to manually configure himem because it wouldn't recognize the BIOS. The DOS Boot disc was based off Win98-type dos and I used it to load network drivers, then ghost the macbook with a winxp image. Worked fine for that.

Stick the Win98 cd-rom in and try to boot off it? Maybe it'll work. The 98 cds are bootable right? Been such a long time I have no idea hehe.

I realy dont care about using 98. I just need an install that can make the software on the upgrade disk know there is a prior version of windows. saves me my pennys. I have a windows 98 boot disk. I also have 2000, but the problem with that is that it spanns over 3 cd's. Also, does anyone know if they will have a non beta realease of boot camp for tiger? If they dont im gonna need to rethink what laptop im gonna get.

P.S. What do you think of the sig?
