zijin_cheng
I have a Pavillion DV5 with a P7350 9600m GT, SATA 320Gb and F.0B BIOS with NO option about ACHI. I have the iDeneb 10.5.5 or 10.5.6 and when i boot -s it gives me still waiting for root device. how do i fix that? i've been to many forums but cannot fix this problem. I do not want to dwonload a different version like iATKOS or something else because i have dialup. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188634-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites
Blacki2k2
You can test to use an sata dvd rom for installation. or try an ide/usb adapter for your dvd-rom, that helps in my case. good luck! naf456
i have the same Problem on 10.5.7. all i did is type "-f -v" when booting the disk to go to the installation, which skipped any Problems. but after the Installation you still won't beable to boot up your OSX86 because of the Stupid AppleNforceATA.Kext which stops it from booting since it doesn't know what HD to boot from since there's no HD drivers.
