Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to the whole osx86 scene but I have a good working setup OS X 10.5.8 running everything works fine except vmware fusion. I installed a trial and first I would get kernel panic whenever I tried to run a virtual machine (i had the 9.7.0 voodoo kernel). I downgraded to the 9.5.0 voodoo kernel and everything started to work fine, but with it I couldn't mount disk images, ugghhhhh. Then I upgraded to the 9.8.0 kernel and 10.5.8 seatbelt and everything runs great again except vmware won't run virtual machines again. Help anyone? I've been using Osx86 Tool to install kernels and seatbelts. Thanks

I just downgraded to 9.5.0 to use vmware fusion again and its working fine, but with the 9.5.0 kernel itunes doesn't recognize my ipod. I really could use some help. I read something about a "symlink" or something like that, that gets rid of the kernel panic when using vmware fusion, but I don't understand how to do it. I really need someone to explain it that would be awesome so i could run vmware fusion, but still be able to use my ipod. thanks again

I had the same issue on a 10.5.2 kalyway build with vmware fusion. It did the same with parallels 4. I ended up moving over to Sun's virtualbox for osx with no issues....

You have kernel VOODOO. At vmware fusion there are problems with kernel panic if the kernel has a name which differs from mach_kernel. For example, mach_kernel.voodoo. Change a kernel name on mach_kernel.
