Under 10.5 I could modify /Volumes/snow/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist to disable spotlight. does the same trick work under 10.6? MikeHunt79 Posted September 27, 2009 Author Share Posted September 27, 2009 Ok, I tried onyx, and it allowed me to disable searching of my startup drive, but I need to disable spotlight completely... I'd like to stop the service and also remove the icon from the top right of the screen!
