bossent20
hi everyone i thought this may be a good way of explaining the situation with a core i7 and gigabyte ud5 ex58 rig my experience should help those trying to install using the iatkos v7 install disc this is what i did... bare in mind every install was successful, however it came to a few problems in the end... BIOS settings: M.I.T - set CPU all to disabled except the first 3 settings. set as Enabled, All cores, Enabled then set AHCI for all HDDs then i go into the installer i press F8 and type cpus=1 busratio=20 everything loads fine and i select what needs to be selected just as instructed when the system loads everything is working fine then once i do an online system update, it installs fine and asks me to restart upon restart it goes into the apple logo screen as normal but restarts again from there upon second restart it goes back to apple logo screen but crashes upon loading. sometimes with the small grey error window, sometimes without also note: my system info showed my core i7 as 4ghz unknown, instead of a core i7 i then decided to reinstall again... and again... and again... going through litterally dozens of installs per day i went through different settings in the BIOS, similar to that i did earlier i finally was able to boot into MAC OSX and do the update successfully to 10.5.8 without any crashes this time. even when changing my BIOS settings after this time, i was still able to boot just fine however, this time i noticed problems within logic studio 8. or 9. both were clean installs. i noticed that same sync problem with audio and midi. this never happened when the system was running fine during a previous install i once again noticed that my core i7 was again showing as 4ghz unknown instead of core i7 so you see, it sometimes shows fine, sometimes not i just need to let you all know the problems i am having over the last few months please can anyone also comment on this please and give me some setting suggestions within the BIOS. i believe i may be doing something wrong thank you PS - i have tried installing using vanilla kernal and with voodoo 9.7 thanks please anyone?
