MarcConnor
It's not that easy. You have to first install it on a partiton/disk that has filesystem AF. Only then can you use the chain0 method. belgrano
From that screenshot that you posted before I see that you have installed OS X after a logical partition... That's a bad thing to do... But if you want to reinstall it on the SATA 80GB HDD (that would be the 2nd HDD, right?), make sure that OS X actually works before fixing the dual boot. And it's installed on a primary partition. And there are no logical partitions before it. Few questions though: why do you keep those unallocated spaces on your 2nd and 3rd hdds? And why do you need 2 logical NTFS partitions on 1 extended partition (on your 1st hdd)? You can have up to 4 primary partition on 1 HDD. Boiling Ice
johnanna, I have have 3HDs on my PC, all IDE, now I've tried lots of installations, chain0 faild to boot. only one option wored with me and here it is: 1) from your Partition Magic screen shot, it shows that your XP drive is not the primary one, although it's the active one, but still it's not the first drive, if possible make it the primary one. 2)Once you make this change, create your Mac OS partition on the same XP drive, install and hope that chain0 will boot. this is what I did and it was the only solution that worked having 3HDs on a PC. johnanna
oh, i see, OK I tried all same time!!!! if I try like this.... I had remove/disconnect all 3 hard drive, and I had connected one hard drive 160GB SATA -just install OS X and No window xp (install OS X WITHOUT windows xp!!!) and boot disk I type create partition primary size=20000 (20GB) id=af for diskpart command...then I installed MAC OS X and reboot...very wait same debug message or darwin load..like"DARWIN Kernel version 8.4.1: Tue Jun 3 18:23:53 PSI 2006; root:xnu-79.7.98.obj_1/release_i386" then itself reboot and again same time!!! what is wrong on? maybe i think " MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL_SSE3_SSE2).iso" is size 4.37GB DVD from torrent (i have it already iso). which is better software for mac os x and patch like mac OS X 10.4.6 Hot X86 iso or other many iso??? which is best logical or primary? I tried read many on web: http://drchoc.blogspot.com/2006/04/mac-os-...on-windows.html http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=14715 http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11339 or many.... thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18845-chain-boot-error/#findComment-124796 Share on other sites
