Use native MacPro SL HD to boot on GA EX-58 UD5?

Hi there,

 

would anyone know if it was possible to use a fresh installation (native 640Gb HD) of SL (10.6.1) which is currently running in a MacPro Nehalem Quad-Core with my soon-to-be built custom "Hackintosh" based on the GA-EX58UD5 i7-920?

Since I still have access to the MacPro I would be able to apply patches or add KExts (if needed).

 

So did anyone every try that or is that maybe even "common" procedure to some of you?
