BLARGiAMdEAD
I just swapped some drive places to fix some booting errors in SL. Now whenever I try to boot from my Vista install, it gives me the "didn't shut down properly" message. When I tell it to start normally (or with last safe setup), it flashes the BSOD for less then a second and reboots. Uhmmm??? My specs are in my sig. I've got (almost) vanilla SL 10.6.0 on my rig. clipper99
BUMP If you swap the drives back to where they were originally does Vista boot? Either way it sounds kinda like maybe you enabled AHCI in your BIOS to facilitate the SL install? If so, does Vista (I run Windows 7 and I know it does) have AHCI support by default or does one have to install the AHCI drivers during the install? Lack of OS support for AHCI generally results in the instant BSOD. If this is the case, try disabling AHCI in the BIOS, boot Vista and install the AHCI drivers, reboot, reenable AHCI in the BIOS and you should be good to go. Or not.... Good luck! BLARGiAMdEAD
Great! I think I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks! Thank you. It worked, but somehow I lost audio in OSX. I'll figure that out in the morning... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188316-osx86-broke-vista/#findComment-1279634 Share on other sites
