cFoo
I need a major speed boost. I'm doing some intensive computation and the bottleneck is now the hard drive. I'm thinking of adding an OCZ Summit to get some IO boost. Does anyone know if it's going to be a problem? I found a couple of threads in the Apple forums with people having problems with SATA II drives but it's mostly because of the cheap/poor motherboard Apple is putting in the Macbook and the iMac. I have an EVGA X58 board. Will it be a problem? I would hate to get out of OSX just because I can't use this drive. Thanks a bunch! vilpostus
May suggest a PCI-E hardware RAID card with SATAII support and an OS X driver. Must work without any problems. http://www.3ware.com/products/serial_ata2-9650.asp e.g. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188150-ocz-summit-120gb/#findComment-1276799 Share on other sites
