Whiterat
Is it just me, or do you just have to look at the filesystem badly for it so corrupt itself! This (If I actually bother to go through with it) will be my 7th install since february... (Ok 1 time was my fault) The rest of the time I get the best error ever: "Invalid Sibling Link" And since those nice folk at Alsoft havent made a DiskWarrior for Intel's yet means that reinstall is the only option. Its a brand spanking new drive, in a brand new laptop. Its getting way beyond a joke, I love the OS but there is no way on earth I can use it everyday with that level of instability! What the heck can I do to keep the filesystem in good shape? I try to run the Disk Utility atleast 2 or 3 times a week just to make sure. macprodan
Do you keep file system journaling on, that helps keep it in Check. Cant say i have had that much trouble myself. Its alot better than XP let me tell you that for sure. Could be a driver issue, or just you, just kiddin.. Whats your setup.? fOZf8
Been working great for me as well, for a few months now at that...yes, maybe its a journaling problem? Or a hardware incompatibility or driver issue perhaps. What kind of chipset are you on? Whiterat
Thanks for the replies guys. Yep Journaling is on, and Im running an intel GMA900 Laptop. Ive never had any issues like this on 10.4.3 (Which I ran for 3 months ish) which does lead me to believe it is something software related. The fact the drive is partioned with XP and OSX probably doesnt help matters. Oh and while you are here, got another problem for if and when it gets going again. I purchased my father the identical laptop to mine so he could run OSX and get off windows at last. His machine can sleep, mine cant. Both same setup, same install, same drivers, etc Any ideas? :S Ive gotta do a reload again anyway because ive got the invalid sibling link anyway :S Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18750-i-severly-hate-osx86-its-beyond-a-joke/#findComment-122795 Share on other sites
