moltar
I'm trying to install leopard 10.5.6 retail on vmware. I've got the vanilla DVD and it's a DMG file. But I still can't figure out what to do with the DMG file I've got. Should I extract it? convert it to ISO? thx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187496-vmware-leopard-1056-how-to-install-from-retail-dmg/#findComment-1272730 Share on other sites
Ranguvar
Convert it to an ISO. Worked for me. You can use dmg2img and then rename to .iso if you use GNU/Linux, if you have OS X somewhere you can use hdiutil, and if you use Windoze you can use dmg2img as well or you can use MagicISO I believe, if you have a mortal fear of the command line. moltar
thx for the help. I've finally been able to run OSX in vmware and then used the disk utility to create a cdr of the dmg. then renamed it to ISO and it worked like a charm. thx.
