  1. the default kernel of the installation. I think it is voodoo, since it suppose to work on intel AMD sse2 sse3. I don't think it's the kernel, since I was able to get a working system once.
  2. You can't update a non-vanilla kernel. the only way to update this installations is by the combo update.

    eMachines E725 hackint0sh problem

if you want any help, you'll have to provide us with the most accurate spec you can find.
  4. this is the spec I'm working on: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 2800 + (SSE, SSE2, x86-64) Memory: 1 Gigabyte Chipset: nfroce3 250 graphics: ATI Radeon 9550 AGPx8 sound: ALC850 LAN: Marvell Yukon 88E8001 HD to install on : 80GB IDE, single harddrive. installing from SATA DVD with Kalyway 10.5.2. I've started working on it here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=187976 and got stuck in the middle. I've been able to install the system once, and it failed after installing some kexts, so I've tried again and I can't bypass the first restart which result everytime with kernel panic. The settings I've tried: default + JAS_SSE2 patch = kernel panic test patch 1 + boot flag + JAS SSE2 no WIFI drivers = kernel panic (something with nforce) default + test patch 1 + boot flag = ACPI kernel panic JAS SSE2 + test 2 + boot flag = onboard pcata kernel panic JAS + Nfroce mobo driver only + test1 patch + boot flag = kernel panic any help or tip will be useful. I know it's a bit old system, but I've seen that similar mobos have been to work in the wiki. I've also got a working Leopard 10.5.8 on vmware in a notebook, so if there is need to use leopard for something I can use it.
  5. which distro are you using?
  6. das_human, thx for all your patience on this. Your hunch was right, it caused kernel panic. Is there any known driver for AGP radeon for 10.5.2? I can't seem to find anything on this.
  7. das_human, thanks for the heads up. I will not update. everything works great with kalyway 10.5.2. I just can't understand what the reccomended kext for ATI radeon 9550 AGP. Could I install one of the general kext for ATI that was on the DVD?
  8. I will give kalyway a try. it i install kalyway can I use the software update to update it to a higher version? I need 10.5.6 to get iWork '09 to work.
  9. i've tried with iPC 10.5.6 PPF 5 and got kernel panic. any things I need to change in order to install?
  10. Works now, thanks. I think the problem was that I've downloaded that on windows and opened it on the VM. Now I've downloaded it directly in the VM and it worked perfectly. thanks! thought it would solve the vram problem also, but it didn't.
  11. Re downloaded several times, same result always. Is there anything I can check?
  12. Hello everyone, did anyone had success on installing SL on latest thinkpads? My hardware is as follows: Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P8600 (SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, EM64T) Chipset: Intel GM45 Graphics: Intel X4500 Memory: 2GB DDR3 Can I install retail SL on this into a separate partition? planning on dual boot with windows 7.
  13. Hi there, I've got a bit older desktop which I want to install OSX 10.5.6 on it with dual boot. currently runs windows XP. what are the recommended settings for iPC install? or should I go with another distro? CPU: AMD Athlon 64 2800 + (SSE, SSE2, x86-64) Memory: 1 Gigabyte Chipset: nfroce3 250 graphics: ATI Radeon 9550 AGPx8 LAN: Marvell Yukon 88E8001 Hard drive that will be used for the insalltion can be SATA or IDE? what's more proven?
  14. thx for the help. I've finally been able to run OSX in vmware and then used the disk utility to create a cdr of the dmg. then renamed it to ISO and it worked like a charm. thx.
  15. I've tried to install this on a 10.5.8 and I don't get any response. I've double clicked on the package, the installer flashes the menu bar for a second and disappears. anything that I'm missing on the installation process?
