DVDeviant
Hello - I have snow leopard installed successfully but have this problem - I have 2 1.5tb drives running windows and have snow leopard on a 3rd drive by itself. My windows drives are on a raid array but the snow leopard isn't. I have to manually go into bios and switch back and forth from raid to AHCI depending on which system i am going to run - is there a workaround for this? richtig
What motherboard? Most boards have 2 JMicron SATA ports, which can be configured for Standard, Raid or AHCI mode. Intel Raid is somewhat faster than JMicron Raid, but switching the Raid array to JMicron SATA ports might be another alternative for your dual-boot situation. But: switching from Intel Raid to JMicron Raid would involve re-formatting the Raid array. A third option would be: to re-engineer the boot files on your single SL drive to be able to run from the Intel controller, while the motherboard bios remains set in Raid mode. [Haven't read of anyone specifically attempting this, however.] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/186995-raid-ahci/#findComment-1268916 Share on other sites
