another_ladiesman217
about a couple of minutes at "calculating remaining install time" it panics, set to AHCI and all that. And before i am to boot into the DVD i have to "busratio=20"(which i think is because it uses a darwin 9.5?) flag it which is weird since the latter 1.4 works fine without any flags :\ help? marcolibra
Hi, I have the same issue. It gives me kernel panic at the end of the installation (iDeneb 1.6 10.5.8), I tried selecting Vanilla and other kernels but the problem remains. Panic screen tells me that actual kernel is Voodoo, maybe it's the default one for the dvd? Is there a way to change kernel during installation? My configuration is: - Asus P5K-E Wifi - Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 - 4GB DDR2 Kingston Thanks in advance. vilpostus
Install a different kernels. Then type kernel name as a boot flag on boot e.g. -v voodoo Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/186657-ideneb-16-panic-during-installation/#findComment-1267719 Share on other sites
marcolibra
Maybe I didn't explain myself well, I can't even finish the installation because kernel panic happens before it ends. How can I change kernel version for the installation process? vilpostus
Oh... Sorry! Well... If there are some other kernels available in the distro disk, use them. The process is much the same. -v kernel_name So you need to know what kernels are available on the distro disk and how they are named. Or use a different distro with the other default kernel. marcolibra
Thank you very much. With the help of Google, I tried to start the install process with 'mach_kernel -v" and 'mach_970 -v' but the strange thing is that kernel panic likewise occurs with the name "voodoo" How this is possible?
