Hi.

Are you loading onto a windows Pc if so you can create a partition in device manager, and mark it active then reboot with your OSX disc in and load it up as you were going to.

If the device manager wont do what you want, then download gparted put onto a CD and run that to create a partton if however you want to install OSx as the sole OS then you can use it to completely reformat the drive and start from fresh.

The one thing i found is that trying to install OSx onto anything but a clean drive/partition can cause problems.

how do i do that in device manager??

THanks

Right click my computer

click manage, storage management. a screen should then popup with a graphic of the drive.

You should see a partition marked C. if there are any other partitions and if you are not using them then mark them as active if not you need to partition the drive.

right click on it choose drive letter/path decide how much space you need in MB , there should be a tick box for no drive letter/path tick that, it should then create a partition that is marked a as healthy but no drive letter, right click on it and choose mark as active, then do disk in reboot etc.

If you are not sure then post a screen shot and i will see what i can do.
