mind_bomb
running 10.5.8 flawlessly, but wondering if anyone upgraded yet to SL. I'm reading about DSDT etc. but I'm not quite motivated to start that whole process. Anyone want to try it together ?? acidream
running 10.5.8 flawlessly, but wondering if anyone upgraded yet to SL. I'm reading about DSDT etc. but I'm not quite motivated to start that whole process. Anyone want to try it together ?? Did this ever work out for you? I gave up on this board a while back even for 10.5.8, and I was gonna give it another go. Stellair
Did you manage to install Snow Leo onto this board? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/186057-supermicro-x7dwa-n-snow-leopard-anyone/#findComment-1548295 Share on other sites
scalar
Bump, I did have my X7DWA-n "mostly" working under 10.6.2 but it's stuck there atm as I hadn't ever had time to 'fully' look into DSDT editing and wound up using a few kexts to get it 'up'. I've got 10.5.8 working fully on that install though and would love to move up, anyone have time to play with theirs too this week? Thanks guys i'm running 10.6.3 flowlesly now i was using iatikos installation I really didn't change anything , it's pretty much vanilla installation all I did was remove 12 GB of ram down to 4GB and installation went really smooth replaced RAM after installation ,everything is working. Actually I'm laying I cant see my NTFS partition on snow leopard now I think its because 10.6.3 is on the GUID HDD but i had trouble with it from the start. otherwise everything runs great I also migrated all of the apps from 10.5.8 and no problem there either. Also the Ethernet still doesn't work . forgot I'm using a PCI network card instead Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/186057-supermicro-x7dwa-n-snow-leopard-anyone/#findComment-1575077 Share on other sites
scalar
Ah I did 10.6.2 by hand, I was hoping for some input on the DSDT changes we need to do as had only done RTC and a few other bits so far. I've pretty much given up expecting to ever see drivers for the LAN also (82575EB) so no big deal there (realtek compat. gigabit card here too.) Sound worked but was debating doing voodoo drtivers instead for more features (or figuring out DSDT methods to get all sound features going.) derkie
Just updated to 10.6.5 everything is running fine. You use a iatkos to install and you upated directly from apple using software update? Today I intalled snow with ##### method and seems everything is fine (excluding network) Someone has found a DSDT file for this motherborad? Thx. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/186057-supermicro-x7dwa-n-snow-leopard-anyone/#findComment-1586582 Share on other sites
scalar
I've been editing mine but haven't made a ton of progress getting away from the few kexts that I need. The ACPI table is so much more complicated for this board that most of what I read elsewhere for DSDT editing is hard to apply... Also the changes since 10.3 are requring some work here to get SL back up, still using 10.5.8 more. Curious what packages he used to install the iAtkos as that might give me some leads on what I still need to patch.
