Lucky you! Would you mind to post your actual specs or the settings U used with empire efi and your BIOS settings. Having tried with latest empire efi 1,085, can't boot to installation routine, changed to the TONYMAC universal CD, had installation success, but got a grey screen when changed resolution of my 9400 GT in system preferences. Will have another attempt tonight. If this fails, gonna try Kakewalk. Will report on further progress. Chrisfromiowa
"lo All, Long time lurker, first time poster. After reading the lifehacker guide, many tutorials and guides I finally got my mobo, it is the intel DG41RQ listed above. I thought it was a well liked board and good for mac-ing. I dont know why I got this one. I had written down dozens of mobo names and numbers and now I think I made a grave error. I got a pci x video card that is mac compatible and I am thinking of taking the pci networking card out of an old G4. I have the snow leopard disk etc. Anything else I need to know about this board? I'll be trying the Empire EFI, does anyone have any warnings for this board??? Before I get into it???? Thanks alot. Chrisfromiowa
Hello All, I am losing it. My fully working (except for wake from sleep) 10.6.4 hack using a dg41rq with a geforce 9800gt stopped booting. I was using bios #14 and everything was great for 3 or 4 months. Then 3 days ago it stopped booting, it wont boot from the HD and it wont boot from a dvd or cd, I took the bios back to #7 and now I can get it to boot using a legacy settings that only has 2 sata slots and it says my disk is damaged so I'm using time machine to restore the hard drive by changing backup hd to a usb connection (it says its going to take 60 hours to restore the drive. If I've damaged the motherboard somehow wont I get beeps at startup or something? By using the time machine restore I've gone down a path I cant turn back from. If there is a problem with the components how can I figure this out? I've tried to boot from PC disks and that wont work either. Help please C 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/185251-snow-leopard-on-intel-dg41rq-lifehackers-guide/#findComment-1561686 Share on other sites
