ATI 4890 Dual Monitors?

I have a dual monitor set up and my max resolution on both is 1024 * 786 so i really need two monitors of workspace but instead of extending it only mirrors onto the other and osx wont pick up the other i have them connected via

1 on the vga port

and one on the dvi port with a vga adapter.

The card is a Sapphire Vapor-X 4890 1 GB Specifically. And i already got QE/CI and rotation. any ideas to make this work? Other than getting a better monitor
