yesterday i`ve tried snow leo install from usb stick without success. install usb stick boots without kernel panic but when the installation screen should appear my lcd loses the signal. i`ve tried all solutions i found and got some help in irc.osx86.hu but all what i did doesn`t change this problem.

i think usb stick install method doesn`t work for this board. if somebody got it working with usb install methode, so let me know the important steps for this board, please.

my hardware (need to update signature, will do this after successfull snow installation):

evga x58 sli

core i7 920 D0 (@200*18;3,6GHz)

corsair dominator 3x2GB kit 1600MHz 8-8-8-24

gtx285 (on 1st pci-e nearest the cpu)

today after work i will try ideneb 1.6 and if it boots i will do the snow installation from there. otherwise will try kalyway, couse this has been reported to work.

when i install snow from leo i have to uncheck printer drivers so the installation would not fail, am i right?

there's another thread on this forum from someone who had success using this board, have you had a look at it, it might help you to get up and running.

I think the issue is with gt200 series cards. I have a gtx 260 with the same issue, and I read another thread of someone with a gtx 295, while I've read no threads of anyone with these cards claiming to have run the installer to install 10.6. I have however read posts of people using these cards in 10.6 after the installation. I haven't found a solution yet.

Hey, I was hoping you wold post and update with a success story. I have a similar system coming in the mail at the end of next week. evga x58 sli, OCZ 1500, evga gts 250, and three hard drives with a two hard drive toaster using SATA hook up.

Soooo.... time will tell.

Sorry if this is completely dead? You guys still need help? I can't get you running perfect, but I can get you to were I am (booting SL in safe mode). Just use DD's guide and installer (4.4). I think it'd work for most, as I believe I'm having trouble bc of my video card (hd 3870). And I am using a 2 USB drives and one HDD. Basically put all the files you need on one USB, and leave the other blank. Boot into leopard or w/e, format both the HD and the USB. Mount the image on the blank usb by using recovery. Open the DD installer and follow the prompts. Then you'll be where I am!!
