[solved] Realtek R8111C stopped working with 10.5.8 update

I got a new mobo (GA-EP45T-UD3LR) and it has the R8111C network chipset. It worked ootb in 10.5.6 retail but after installing the 10.5.8 update it keeps defaulting to "self-assigned IP address" even though i have dhcp turned on. I've tried many different kexts with no luck. Any ideas?

Update:

 

While attempting to get a pci LAN card working i installed Tulip.kext. Oddly enough, this didnt work for the pc card, but works damn spiffy for the onboard lan. Works from EFI partition too!
