Ok, here is what I did to get it to work. Lots of thanks to pontifex22 for the PM/Email help, most of this is thanks to him.

What you need:

8GB Usb drive

Another Mac

Snow Leo DVD

Preparing the Drive:

Open disk utility and make two partitions, the first partition can be about 100mb, the second can be the rest of the drive. It should be formatted as GPT, both partitions HFS+

Restore the snow leo DVD into the second partition using the restore tool on disk utility.

Now, install chameleon RC3 into the first partition. There is no official installer, so what I did was to install the RC2, and just copy over the file "boot" from the RC3 download into the root of the first partition.

Download the fakesmc from netkas.org and add it to your Extensions folder in the first partition

Download mkextool and create a new mkext based on your new extensions, replace the mkext in the Extra folder.

Copy over DSDT.aml into the Extra folder (you can use the one attached, it has all of the fixes. You can also use your own if that makes you feel better.

Copy over smbios.plist to the Extra folder, edit any necessary entries according to your memory speed and processor.

Depending on your videocard, you may need to add your EFI string to the boot.plist

Also, don't forget to add your GraphicsMode to the plist.

The last thing you need to add to the plist is the UUID of your boot partition. In order to find it, right click on the second partition of your drive and click on information (from within disk utility), the Universal Identifier is what you want. Add an entry like this to your drive:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>-v -boot-uuid=8CEA9C74-A353-309F-BB05-FE17C4AFCA13</string>

Booting from USB Drive:

Go into your bios and enable AHCI and disable jmicron (havn't gotten this to work). This means that there is no IDE support yet.

Once the bios restarts again, press Esc multiple times until the boot menu appears, choose your USB drive. Boot the partition in which you restored the DVD and install to a GPT formatted drive.

The installation will finish with an error, something about your disk not being able to be set as startup disk, ignore this.

Restart again, pick your USB key as the boot device, but this time boot from the new drive with the following commands:

-arch=i386 -legacy

Once you do this, install chameleon into the actual drive and copy over the dsdt and the necessary kexts, as well as the plist.

You should have sound working, and full resolution (if you set the graphics mode in boot.plist).

Attached are some of the necessary files.

STILL NOT WORKING:

S3 Sleep (this was also an issue with leopard

IDE Support (no matter what kext I try, I get a kernel panic on boot if IDE is enabled)

Let me know if you guys need any help

Archive.zip

I have the same motherboard with last BIOS Version. SL DVD with Chameleon2 is not possible to boot for me.

Have been dozens of attempts behind me.

What errors do you get? Kernel Panics?

I patch the DSDT (HPET, RTC, CMOS ... ) and eliminated all errors and warnings from DSDT, but without success.

Maybe we can help each other.

Sorry for my bad english.

I just received a PM saying that snow leo does work on the lanparty jr. Here is the link:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1275069

I'll post a more details when i get my videocard back this weekend.

I think when you follow the Gigabyte P45 Thread with some necessary adjustments you will have succes.

Didn`t tried it yet but when i get my copy i will give it a try

ps: did one of you had leo on this mobo and didn`t turn off the pc for a few days and noticed 100 percent cpu load?

every couple of days a process "update" seems to hang up and takes my cpu load to 100 percent.

Does your Speedstep?

My IDE works, I have no KP ', but I have BloodIron P45-T2RS motherboard.

I use JMicronATA.kext for it. (Without this kext boot my Mainboard without Problems, but without IDE Devices.)

Which kext did you use for audio?

Edit:

Ok, i tested your DSDT, audio works without kext. Nice!!!!

lthough I have only one Audio-Output.

SpeedStep don't work.

I'm already one step further. Only the voltage reduction is not yet functioning properly. Have 60°C idle, not 42°C.

I can upload my DSDT later, when it's finished.

hi all

i have the same mainboard... and i think all works out of the box...

alc885 without kexts running completly..

i have only one problem...

my hardrives will not work only the first.. the rest are mountet but cannot activtet the most time, and if they active they are very slow 1,2mb/s ???

disk utily crashes the most time

ähm sorry for my english... :P

hope someone can help me :)

I'm stuck, I'm new to this whole Hackintosh thing so take it easy with me. I don't have this exact MB, I have the dfi lanparty p45-t2rs elite, it's very similar specs wise. I took my Snow Leopard retail Disc and used Disk Utility to create a DMG image from it, I formatted my 8 gig USB drive, 100 megs and the rest on the 2nd partition. GUID partitions for both. I restored the SL image to the 2nd drive, and followed this guide to a tee. Only thing I did not do is EFI my video card into the plist, I have a 4850 and lord knows I can't figure out what I need to do. I'm assuming since I set the resolution to 1024x768x16 in the graphicsmode I should be okay with whatever default SVGA drivers SL uses. Here is what happens. I have the IDE turned off in my BIOS and AHCI mode turned on. I can boot into my 10.5.6 fine. But, when I try to boot off the USB stick it starts loading, I see a bunch of stuff scrolling on the screen and I get really corupted graphics. Like to the point I can't even come close to making anything out.

Since I have very limited OSX knowledge I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm guessing it's because I don't have this exact MB, and maybe the problem lies in the DSDT. The problem is I can't find a good guide for making my own. And like I said, I'm not even 100% sure that's the problem. My board does have the same chipset/wireless & audio. I dunno what all else is contained in the DSDT file.

Anyone want to help me out here? I'm going to keep messing with it until I figure it out or somebody helps me. But like I said, I'm lost right now.

Hi, this guide and the provided files allowed me to have a flawless boot at my first Snow Leopard attempt EVER, so a big THANK YOU is mandatory! ;)

So far, I got everything to work besides the useless (for me at least) JMicron IDE and, unfortunately, audio. This is what I get when using only the provided dsdt.aml file to recognize it: http://yfrog.com/1raudioscreenp

The preference panel shows no recognized device, both in input and output. I'm mainly interested in getting the optical SPDIF out working as my only speakers are attached to it. Thanks!

Hallo

I pick up the old jr P45-T2Rs and i managed to install 10.6.4 as vanilla as possible.

I started using the latest RC5 unofficial chameleon built rc5, then i used tony's mac smbios.plist from imac11,1 and apple.boot.plist.

I edited apple.boot.plist to have chameleon automatic generate c-states and p-states!

<key>GeneratePStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>GenerateCStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>systemID</key>

string>..value from disk utility..</string>

In the extensions folder i have only fakesmc.kext.

I then extracted dsdt and use this perfect guide to edit dsdt lpc for dfi

i wanted lpc device to be recognized to have fully working SpeedStep withAppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.

Installed voodoomonitor and checked status working -lowering the cpu frequency ! Keeping the temp 42c max.

P-states tables values show lowering the frequency but voltage stays the same - i think to correct voltage further dsdt editing is needed.

Everything is working out of the box except resuming from sleep. Don't know how to do it from dsdt. Help is needed.

This board is so close to the real thing and the bios looks so similar to gigabyte. My next board will be Giga P55.
