eranj
Hi, I installed leo4all on Acer 2930Z and I'm having the following problems: 1. Booting from hard drive gives "boot0: error" only. When booting with the installation disc inside, I successfully boot to OSX. I tried installing Chameleon 2 and it failed for some reason. I tried from the installer included in the installation disc. I also tried fixing it by making the OSX partition active with fdisk, like I read in the forum. I did the fix as suggested but it didn't work. 2. I need the boot manager (don't care which one), to have the option to boot to Vista. Vista is previously installed on other partition. anyway I'm stuck and it's not even my laptop so I need to fix it ASAP. please help, I need a 100% working method. vilpostus
In other words, you can't boot to naiver OS'ses? If yes, you have to restore the MBR. After restoring MBR you can boot to Vista easily. The OS X partition will be bootable too, but you will need a boot manager like Grub or Easy Boot CD to install to boot it. To restore MBR check this http://www.ehow.com/how_4836283_repair-mbr-windows.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/184619-leo4all-1052-boot-problems/#findComment-1254648 Share on other sites
eranj
How do I get Chameleon to work? Do I must restore mbr anyway? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/184619-leo4all-1052-boot-problems/#findComment-1254722 Share on other sites
vilpostus
Do I must restore mbr anyway? If you want to boot Vista, then yes. How do I get Chameleon to work? Sorry, I don't use it. So have no idea how. Anyway need to restore MBR if you can't boot any OS. Even if you restore the Cahmeleon to working state, Vista won't boot without a proper MBR record. I suggest restore MBR than reinstall Chameleon. Read more information on this matter before reinstalling it. There are many underwater rocks in that process, so you got to know very well what you're doing.
