osxgus
hi all inspiron users, i am having a bit of a problem with sound. i can be enjoying a video on youtube, listening to music through itunes or whatever, and all of a sudden the sound becomes totally chopped up. sometimes it will fix itself (after like 10mins), but sometimes i need to restart to get it to work properly again (really annoying if you're running front row and have friends over..). if anyone has run a fix for the inspiron audio, plz let me know. i am trying to stable things out, and it all works.. but not 100%, but not far from. cheers! osxG Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18425-inspiron-6000-audio/ Share on other sites
phb
Go to .6. It will fix the audio issue. Had the same thing. I suspect it has something todo with cpu throttling+too hot processor. Try The cputhrottle util that's available, it might solve the problem aswell. osxgus
i also agree with the hot processor theory.. it only happens when i got the laptop on the couch, not on the desk.. noticed the other night.. ultrasoul
Have an inspiron 6000 too. No such problems. Then again, it could be the overheating problem. I guess this would be gone if you have a CPU throttling app. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18425-inspiron-6000-audio/#findComment-129257 Share on other sites
