Hi, i've just bought a new computer like this:

Motherboard: Asus P5P43TD

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500

Disc: Seagate 250 GB SATA

When i put the installation disc of the iPC 10.5.6 Universal in my computer, it starts loading Darwin x86 but after about 6 seconds the computer reboots automatically. Why? What can I do? Thanks.

Why?

The default kernel used in the install disk you trying to install from, doesn't "like" your system.

What can I do?

Boot up, on Darwin prompt press F8, then type -v and hit enter. Now will see where you system reboots.

Use a different kernel (if there are any included in the install disk). Use a different distro e.g. different instal disk (Kalyway, iAtkos, iDeneb, etc.)

Thanks

Welcome, but use the forum search next time...

P.S. There are allot of good videos on the subject in YouTube.

I tried ToH and Kalyway, but i received this error:

system config file '/com.apple.boot.plist' not found

I think this is due to my DVD player, which has an IDE connection... I'm going to buy a new SATA DVD player. Is it correct?

Ok, next time i will... excuse me ;)

No it has nothing to do with IDE. I use IDE DVD drives to install. Works fine, even with the retail DVD. But it is deffinetly related to DVD drive or DVD disk (slave/master, boot priority).

I don't think so. Read this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...php/t54069.html

I have a Jmicron PATA/SATA chip... it has problem to boot Hackintosh (I think every distro) with IDE optical drives. What do you think about this?

Well sorry, you is right. I didn't know you have Jmicron. It's Jmicron specific IDE problem.

Try this solution: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88309

Hope it will help you.
