KillPhilVol1
My computer dosent have a dvd rom drive but my laptop does. Is there a way to copy the Dvd to my hard drive and put it on a few cd's so I can install it on my desktop? bofors
Yes, it is possible to do this, but I have only done in OS X. It helps if you have more than one hard drive or perhaps an iPod to work with. What do you have? Are you working in Windows or what? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18401-installing-osx86/#findComment-120251 Share on other sites
The_Magistrate
I sucessfully installed using VMWare, Alcohol 120% and a clean hard drive. I don't have a DVD burner.... First, I mounted the image in Alcohol 120. I then created a new VMWare workstation and pointed it to use the virtual dvd-drive. The virtual machine was also set to use the hard drive directly (independent-persistant). When I booted the virtual machine, I proceeded to install everything on the hard drive. Once the installation was done, I restarted the computer and booted to the new drive. Worked like a charm. KillPhilVol1
Yeah im working in windows... I wanted to do a dual boot so I can play games using xp and do music production using OSx. I havent used Mac's OS in like 6 years I cant wait to use it again. I did some research on the VMware and it sounds sweet so im looking into that now. No I dont have a Ipod but I do have an external hard drive.
