core2quad q6600 runs too hot in 10.5.8

I've noticed that in 10.5.8, my q6600 cpu runs at 65-70 when at full title but idle is around 50-60. In windows idle is around 30-45 with it hitting 50 if its at full tilt.

 

What is causing this exactly? I've got disabler.kext installed and have tried removing AppleCPUThermo.kext both from the Extensions dir and as a plugin in AppleACPI.kext.

 

But on my laptop with a core 2 duo, my cpu temps are fine.
