vilpostus
*BUMP* Try the one you've been suggested before or this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113288 They all seems bet difficult at first glance. Nothing difficult though if you read toughly several times. I'm sorry verdant.I really did not follow much from your links. Can i use this method http://inihilist.wordpress.com/2008/04/05/...and-fool-proof/ thanks You may use it. But no warranties cos' it may not be compatible with your system. verdant
*BUMP* You can try it if you wish....... BUT my mantra to help newbies is: Begin with correct BIOS settings; use USB keyboard & USB mouse to avoid PS/2 issues; check on PATA before you check on SATA; HDD MBR partition and format, unless you have good reason to use GPT; boot OS X DVD with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048, unless you know better; initially choose no video, network and audio kext for easy path to OS X...... So, start by reading post #1 in my thread and sorting out the BIOS settings for your MOBO..... My blog install guides for some of the available distros give you a step by step procedure to follow except you will have different video and audio driver requirements to suit you MOBO..... What OS X distros do you have available.......? Is your DVDRW PATA (IDE) or SATA.....? If IDE then you should have no problems booting the DVD but see IDE connection section in post #1..... My dvd drive is SATA. Will that be a problem? I have ToH_x86_9A581_RC2.iso as well as iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final Which should I use. Should MAC OSX RETAIL+BOOT-132 be my last resort or my first resort? Boot-132 seems(at first glance to me) pretty simple. Boot from Boot132 > Swap for retail Leo Disc > Install Leopard > install kexts from the Boot-132 > Done. I hope I am right on that. Please reply and thanks for all the replies till now Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183521-help-for-a-person-completely-new-to-osx86/#findComment-1248185 Share on other sites

Please reply and thanks for all the replies till now Your SATA DVDRW may well be the problem......it often is with nForce chipset MOBOS..... As for installing OS X you can EITHER: A. Try the Boot-132 CD/HDD/USB stick + Retail DVD approach, which does not as yet work easily/readily with all non-Intel chipset MOBOs......e.g. nForce+Intel.... BUT I have produced an nForceBoot132.iso image that I can successfully run with rd(0,1)/mach_kernel.voodoo -v boot-uuid=10.5.6 Retail DVD uuid to get into the Retail OS X 10.5.6 DVD installer to install 10.5.6 Retail on a HDD partitioned/formatted as GPT/HFS+, with Chameleon 2.0 RC1 (now RC2 is available) as the HDD bootloader..... which you can try with your OS X Retail Disk......no guarantees with versions earlier than 10.5.6...... OR B. Find, obtain and use iPC 10.5.6 Final v1.1 DVD distro........initially installing without video, network and audio drivers......follow my blog install guide.....
