well, there is an option in a menu to use keys like tab and stuff, but you have to activate it. Id recommend you to use a external VGA screen for the install process. it's recognized fastly and the small eee screen doesnt nag you.

I tried to use a VGA monitor but it will only use it as a secondary monitor (e.g. drag things from one screen to the other screen) i tried to drag the installer to my external display but i cannot click the bar at the top to drag it because it is covered up by the menu bar (i think its called) does anybody no how to enable tabbing through menus whilst in the OS X Installer

Thanks :)

Try booting with "Graphics Mode"="800x480x32" flag. Write it exactly as it given (not Graphics Mode=800x480x32 but "Graphics Mode"="800x480x32")

It just wont do anything i type it in like you said with the "" but it just doesn't do anything the installer is booted off a memory stick (usb key or whatever you call em) with Chameleon bootloader v2 which i installed to make the memory stick bootable...

Any Ideas

Thanks People :)

*Bump* Help Please?!

You type in the graphics mode at the boot prompt where it counts down at the darwin bootloader? Try plugging the monitor in while the eee is off as well.. and press Fn+F5 twice before it boots. this will switch your default monitor to the external, so the installer can run at it's default 1024x768

Ill give this a try soon + i am booting off a memory stick and to make it bootable i had to use "Chameleon v2" bootloader so it doesn't come up with the darwin bootloader as you mentioned, ill try the rest out in a bit tho...

Thankyou :D

I've been having this issue too but I finally managed resolve this by attaching a VGA monitor. However you want the VGA monitor to be Display 2 ONLY, NOT extend the desktop or mirror it. If you boot iAtkos v7 and let it proceed to load the installer the VGA monitor will eventually switch to Extended mode and the fn+F5 key will not work anymore, so before you proceed to load the installer, that is when the boot: prompt appears, press fn+F5 several times (give a couple seconds for the command to work before pressing again). This toggles the options: Mirror, Extended, Display 2, Display 1.

You want to get the VGA (Display 2) working and the LCD OFF. Then proceed to load the installer at the boot: prompt. Do not use mirror or extended. The Lcd will switch off after toggling fn+F5 several times. Now you will use the VGA ONLY without the LCD and you will see all the Buttons that were cut off before. I still haven't gotten the iAkos v7 to finish an install. But that maybe because I tried using a DVD-RW instead of a DVD-R.
