napjulius
my gratitude to all the osx86 community. it was because of their support base that i decided to go ahead with my hackintosh (after weeks and weeks of reading topics and blogs). so i got iPC installed on my rig but i get alot of kernel panics screen. sometimes without running anything. sometimes when on FCP or geekbench mark. and sometimes when installing some software or booting up. I knew the dangers and pitfalls of trying to do a hackintosh but after the many success stories, and people claiming that their rig runs very stable (60+days w/o restarting) even more so than a real mac, in some cases, i thought it will only take me a few tweaks to have a good system. because of your help i got audio, wireless, GFX, FCS all sorted out, but my question is, anyone out there (and i know there are, i made sure to get compatible hardware) running similar specs to mine without so much kernel panics. GA-EP45-UD3R Intel core 2 quad Q9550 2.83 GHz PNY Nvidia 9400 1024Mb (temp) [evga 9800gtx 512mb replacement on its way from newegg (DOA) Patriot Viper memory 800Mhz 2x2 4GB asus Wl-138g V2 802.11b/g does work ootb but firefox and safari crash alot. i customized it many times but i always get Kernel panics. anyone with a stable customized suggestions? should i try a different distro? regardless of distro my final objective is to go retail but not financially possible at the moment. will doing that reduce the Kernel panics drastically? thanks like always drs Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182717-best-settings-ep45-ud3r-ipc/ Share on other sites

napjulius
hey ogi24, you have a nice set up there, and you've made a good choice on your hardware. i don't know how you've customized your hackintosh but you can try these settings: choose your GFX Chipset Drivers: Intel ICH10 Sata support Audio Driver: ALC889a (or which ever is best for you) Ethernet: Realtek r1000 [have not used but very popular] USB drivrer: Patched USB drivers Fixes and patches: Shutdown/Restart Fix DSDT patches: Patch DSDT [with or w/out i get kernel panics sometimes] AppleSMBIOS patch: SMIBIOSResolver let me know your choices so i can try them myself. thanks -drs Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182717-best-settings-ep45-ud3r-ipc/#findComment-1248369 Share on other sites
