ApexDE
Hi! I want to investigate why it takes so long for my Board going to Sleep. If i activate Sleep, the Screen and USB-Ports go off, but the Mainboard stays on. It takes about two minutes before the Hack sleeps. At that point i see a last harddisk activity (Sleepimage is written i suppose) and then Fans and Power goes off. Sometimes the Hack hangs at this point and theres no "last Harddisk activity" and the Hack freezes at this point! Time to investigate Is there a way to write logs of what happens at the going-to-sleep-process? As the Screen is off at that point, i can't see why the Hack is waiting so long or even why it freezes at the sleep-process. Thanks, i really want to sort this out. This happens ever since i installed OS X. Here is a log entry, about such a sleep-process: Aug 24 05:18:41 Hackmac com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.backupd-wake[991]): Exited with exit code: 1 Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: hibernate_page_list_setall start Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: hibernate_page_list_setall time: 153 ms Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: pages 345043, wire 87865, act 113193, inact 12, spec 3, zf 0, throt 6565, could discard act 44955 inact 18215 purgeable 6247 spec 67988 Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: hibernate_page_list_setall found pageCount 207638 Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.mDNSResponderHelper): Throttling respawn: Will start in 9 seconds Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac /etc/rc.wakeup[1039]: executing .wakeup of user ds Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: IOHibernatePollerOpen, ml_get_interrupts_enabled 0 Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: IOHibernatePollerOpen(0) Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: writing 206765 pages Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: image1Size 95572992 Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: all time: 4420 ms, comp time: 1155 ms, deco time: 0 ms, Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: image 339976704, uncompressed 846897152 (206762), compressed 335066276 (39%), sum1 368bd967, sum2 b3075415 Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: hibernate_write_image done(0) Aug 24 05:18:42 Hackmac kernel[0]: sleep Another entry which might cause it: Aug 24 15:57:37 Hackmac kernel[0]: IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType05::setPowerState(0x613eb00, 4 -> 0) timed out after 100374 ms Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181393-solved-sleep-takes-very-long-on-ga-ep45-ds3/ Share on other sites
ApexDE
I solved both Issues: First, the RTL8139 caused the problem that the system did hang when going to sleep (sometimes, not always). Second, i updated my Mainboard Bios and got a new AHCI Bios which fixed the Sleepproblems of my DVD Drive.
